What we do?

In order to make sure that people over 50 living in Blackburn with Darwen have a strong voice the 50+ Partnership is actively involved with all areas of the Borough Council and the full range of health services.We make sure that the needs and aspirations of older people are heard when decisions about services are being taken.

The 50+ Partnership led the development of the new Older People's Strategy for Blackburn with Darwen. The current Older People's Strategy can be seen by clicking on the box below.

We also initiate and deliver research into the major issues identified as priorities by local older people. This helps to ensure that decision makers are made aware of the reality of life for local older people.

Currently the three priorities are TRANSPORT, INFORMATION and INVOLVEMENT.

The 50+ Partnership has a panel of 500 people aged over 50 who are asked for their views on relevant issues. To find out how the Partnership Panel has been involved Click on the Involvement box below.
